The states created the Federal government. The states used to be represented in the federal government by two senators from every state before the 17th Amendment was ratified in 1913.
The 17th amendment then changed the senators from representing the states to directly representing the people.
The Federal government has grown significantly since then and is now controlling the states in the way that the founding fathers feared. They have placed too much power in too few hands.
The federal government politicians claim to just want to help by providing funds, but there are strings attached to this that creates a situation where feds control state programs.
Powers should be spread as wide as possible to increase freedom and liberty, as well as reduce corruption.
If the states are doing a program, then the federal government should not get involved.
