Down the Path of the Palestinians.

By Bill Haley
Last month’s 10-7-2023 attack on the Jewish people in Israel revealed many views that opened eyes. All analogies fall apart at some point, and there are thousands of issues, so let me state my points and limitations.
The Palestinians and the black population both claim oppression and justify their destructive behaviors as a response to that oppression.
Their oppression claims, both the black populations and Palestinians, are often full of lies, out of context, exaggerated, significantly in the past, cluttered with unfair stereotypes, accept claims uncritically, dismiss evidence counter to their narrative, use never and always too often, attribute racism unwarrantedly, and make unsupported inflammatory statements.
The phrase ‘Black Lives Matter’ means that most white people, the government, and the police don’t think black lives matter. The strong negative response to the ‘all lives matter’ slogan is to keep alive the false narrative that everyone is racist and does not think black people’s lives matter. A high percentage of the black population votes for politicians that keep that oppression narrative going.
The politicians that the black population overwhelmingly voted for are hiring the police chief, setting laws, providing benefits, executing and overseeing governance. Those politicians do their job poorly, resulting in higher crime, lower average income, low academic achievement, economic suppression, broken families, and other depressing outcomes.
Even though many black-majority populations have their chosen politicians win for decades and wield considerable authority, resulting in depressing outcomes, they continue to vote for the same or similar politicians.
Palestinians also must keep the false narrative alive that they are oppressed. Palestinians also vote for government leadership that yields abysmal results. Although the elected leaders have full governing authority, they still keep the false narrative alive that they are oppressed. The Palestinians’ most considerable oppression is their culture of hatred of the Jews.
It does not make much sense, but some narratives become so strong that a group of people will continue to vote for the people who oppress them.
There is a sizable population of Muslims/Palestinians living in Israel, and on average, they have a significantly higher standard of living and liberty compared to Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip. No Jewish people live in the Gaza Strip because they would either be killed or live under real and massive oppression.
The same applies in part to the black population in America. The black people living in 90% plus white areas have significantly higher income, better academic achievement, and lower crime rates. Those areas are usually ruled by government officials that the black population does not typically vote for. If white people really oppressed black people, you would see worse results in 90% white-10% black neighborhoods. That is not the case.
In the summer of 2020, numerous massive violent protests claiming black oppression resulted in majority-black neighborhoods damaged, Impoverished, and with a much greater crime rate. The police and white people on the Right did not do the damage and are a tiny percentage of the perpetrators of crime.
A society must set consequences for destructive behaviors. If someone is inhibiting someone’s liberties by theft, vandalism, assault, battery, or murder, the perpetrator’s liberties must be restricted as a punishment and deterrent. Often, a black perpetrator’s proper arrest, prosecution, and incarceration are cited as oppression of the black population. In reality, it is the protection of the black population when over 90% of the perpetrators of crimes against black people are also black.
While there is injustice everywhere, the rate really matters. Sure, injustice must be addressed, but it must be addressed with due process, within context, and essentially, in truth. It is always harmful to claim an injustice while violating the rights of others. Show by example. The American experiment of looking at rights, liberties, and justice of individuals versus groups has been a significant success, and the black population concentrates on groups.
To be clear, the most significant factor of good results in education, economics, low crime, and general thriving is a high percentage of the population in healthy husband and wife relationships.

<![CDATA[A Proposal to Gain High-Quality Science and Accessible Information Regarding Climate Change]]>Mon, 12 Aug 2019 23:49:30 GMThttp://haley2024.org/blog-on-issues-of-the-day/a-proposal-to-gain-high-quality-science-and-accessible-information-regarding-climate-change
The science surrounding climate change is inconsistent and unclear. The vast majority of media reports regarding the science take statistics out of context or include cherry-picked data. Media reports often exclude caveats that distort the meaning of the science. These distortions are often multiplied by other media reports citing the first distortion with additional wrong assumptions. The issues surrounding science is incredibly numerous and incredibly complicated.
The American government, along with state governments, are spending tens of billions of dollars trying to study and address the issue. Government regulations are adding to the expense. Economically inefficient tax credits based on climate change is costing tens of billions of dollars. A large percentage of American citizens are spending more or curtailing economic activity in significant ways based on the threat of climate change.
Proposals to further address climate change are gaining support and incredibly costly. Politicians and citizens on all sides of this issue deserve to have better and higher quality information. It is not likely that agreement will ever be reached; however, there is a way to structure the funding, research, data, and wisdom that is out in the universe of knowledge to give a clearer picture of the science.
Haley2024 introduces several concepts that would assist in this endeavor. The first concept is having a better representation of the citizens. There is an excellent case to be made that the vast majority of science dollars are going towards ‘the climate change is a serious problem’ side of this issue. The proposal would be that every American citizen puts their trust in a government-funded, yet private organization. That citizen’s trust authorizes government dollars to that organization to accomplish a government-specified goal.
A dozen private nonprofit groups should be created to study the issue of climate change. Each of these groups would try to gain the support and trust of every American citizen. Each of these twelve groups receives the percentage of the government’s climate change budget in proportion to their percentage of citizens that gives their trust. If government budgets $10 billion for climate change, and one of these organizations has 10% of citizens signing up to their organization, they receive $1 billion. An organization with 5% trust would receive $500 million, and an organization with 15% trust would receive $1.5 billion.
Having a dozen organizations directing funding from a wide range of viewpoints that mirror the American people is better than a small group of like-minded people directing all the science funding. Currently, many scientists that desire the next grant, or employment on a science-related project stay away from being skeptical of climate change. In this new system of a broader range of organizations directing the funding, the scientist would be much freer to state the science as clear and as truthful as possible.
Citizens would likely value organizations that collaborate with other organizations. An expensive wide-ranging science experiment and study would likely be funded and staffed by many of the organizations. Many citizens would feel more comfortable and give their trust to organizations that can withstand the scrutiny of other organizations being included in the study. As a condition of receiving government money, a certain level of fully including personnel from all the other organizations is mandated.
All government-funded studies should always have 100% of the underlying data fully accessible online. Many issues of a report need to be fully visible. How the information is collected, why is some data excluded, what assumptions are made, what is the code for the computer models, what is the history of those computer models and many other issues are critical knowledge to examine. Many of these issues can create a large and compounding margin of error.
In the Haley2024 CRA Structure, this would be accomplished in the Environmental Sector. Another Haley2024 introduced concept is the Rating System. The CRA Structure has a Rating System just for the Environmental Sector. The Rating System proposes to provide citizens high-quality information. With or without the CRA Structure, a percentage of the money provided needs to be dedicated to making the findings accessible to the general public.
These dozen organizations would dedicate 2% to 5% of their funding for analyzing all the relevant studies. 200 million dollars can hire over a thousand high-quality doctorate level employees. These employees would come from an extensive and diverse study of science. Dozens of fields of science are highly relevant to determine the validity of the research.
Each field of science can enhance or detract from the logic of assumptions. Geologist brings something different than a microbiologist. Mathematicians and statisticians are vital. Physicists from many disciplines can bring valuable insights. Philosophers have studied the concept of considering many aspects of a problem. Economists from many viewpoints can add worth to the discussion. The fact that a dozen different organizations are hiring these scientists adds diversity of philosophy within each of these scientific disciplines.
Every study, every assumption, every data set, every computer model, among other findings, would have a complete write up by all twelve organizations. Every organization would rate everything. Studies funded by the government must have the combined ‘rating level’ connected to their studies. Margins of error would become familiar to everyone. Links to anything one of these dozen organizations writes are mandatory for government-funded studies.
This Rating System model would be much more valuable than current peer review studies. 200 million dollars funding thousands of highly qualified scientists from a comprehensive set of disciplines and hired from many political and philosophical viewpoints, paid to only review studies with full access to all the data will provide high-quality information that citizens can trust.
A study that has 67% of organizations claiming the margin of error is too high to be meaningful would likely be discarded by most citizens. A finding that 93% of organizations rate as highly reliable and significant would focus the attention of the American people. The one-page writeup from your trusted organization can be powerful. A combined write up from a majority of the organizations would be hard to ignore.
The ability of all organizations to comment and link to their papers with thoughtful critiques of other organizations will significantly encourage organizations to be honest with their reports. It would be embarrassing to have your study rated low by the majority of organizations. This Rating System would discourage reports taking facts out of context or leaving out critical data or relevant caveats.
A significant part of the Rating System would be to rate news media reporting on climate change. With an extensive staff within the Rating System, these organizations would be able to quickly link quality reports to news media stories and rate the bias, accuracy, and context. If the combined weighted average of the Rating System gave a news media piece a low rating, it would indeed be embarrassing.
The Rating System, being funded by the government, would have several mandates. One such mandate is the ability of any one of these dozen organizations to directly ask and demand the other organizations answer direct questions. Other mandates would be to have a robust debate and an interview team within each organization. In conclusion, the American people need high-quality information before we make significant reforms. The cost of accessing this data is less than spending $10 on a Carfax report before spending $50,000 on a used car.

<![CDATA[Guarding Against Bad Constitutional Amendments]]>Thu, 27 Jun 2019 00:33:42 GMThttp://haley2024.org/blog-on-issues-of-the-day/guarding-against-bad-constitutional-amendments
Let us suppose that nefarious forces wanted to pass an awful US Constitutional Amendment stating, in essence, that all property in America became the property of the leader of the nefarious group. The Amendment also states that the leader has full authority to use all military forces at his will. The Amendment legally made the leader of the nefarious group, a dictator with no checks on his power. The Amendment gives the dictator full authority to order any citizen of America to do what he demanded.
The Constitution of the United States, states in Article 5, that the Constitution may be amended when ratified by the Legislatures of three-fourths of the several States. How many people would this nefarious group need in order to legally change the Constitution? I claim that it is less than most people might think. If this group kept their plans secret until the last minute and used strategy to place their members in certain districts, the number is low and unsettling. There is no doubt that it would be difficult to get people to move and keep secretive; however, if dedicated and promised to be in the privileged class, this becomes possible. Having a strong religious motivation could also create the necessary commitment.
Let us look at the numbers. In the presidential year of 2016, 79 million people voted in the 12 most populace states, while 59.7 million people voted in the 38 other states. Strategy would dictate that the group would concentrate all its efforts in these 38 least populace states. Strategy would also dictate that the nefarious group’s efforts would concentrate in a slight majority of state legislative districts because only a 51% majority of state legislators per state in each of the 38 states are needed to pass the horrible US Constitutional Amendment.
Roughly 30 million voters, voted in the presidential election, in approximately 3,000 (54%) legislative districts of the 38 lowest populace states. The 2016 presidential election had a 60% turnout. Most state legislative district elections do not top 40%, and primaries rarely top 20%. Strategy dictates that the group concentrate its efforts in the off-presidential years, thus reducing voting voters to roughly 20 million people in the targeted districts. 20 million voters are all the voters on both sides of the political divide; thus, 10.1 million voters are needed to win elections.
Ten million voters are roughly 3% of the population of America. However, the strategy would continue with additional tactics. As the nefarious group moves people into the targeted districts, they would be replacing some voters moving out. There would be some additional apartments built, but most would concentrate on replacements in high density per housing unit. Learning lessons of ‘white-flight’ from fifty years ago, the nefarious group might instigate the movement of citizens out of the district by being unpleasant to be around and hastening the replacement rate.
Concentrating efforts in low turnout primaries could knock out weak politicians with even lower numbers of voters. As the nefarious group’s state delegates and state senators begin to win, they would gain governmental power to push laws through to assist in the strategy. Being covert, nominees would take on the ‘positions’ of the mainstream majority of the voters. With an average of about 4,500 nefarious group members per house of delegate seat, they would have a substantial funding and volunteer base.
Primaries have much lower turnouts. If they use effective strategy, the nefarious group could take out the weaker candidates in primaries or move in after a retirement. There are 20 million off-year voters in roughly 2,200 seats or an average of 9,000 per district. Ten Million nefarious members can average 4,500 per targeted district. It is not unusual for primary candidates to win with less than 2,000 votes.
After the nefarious group gained enough seats in 38 states, they simultaneously introduce the horrible Amendment in their state legislatures. Once 30 states pass the exactly worded Amendment and sent it to the US Congress, the Speaker of the House of Representative MUST by constitutional law sent it to the states for ratification. If the Speaker of the house refuses the Amendment, the 30 states could just claim to be following the constitutional guidelines and force the Amendment out of the house for ratification. These 38 targeted states quickly ratified the Amendment, and the leader of the Nefarious group legally takes control.
This method or strategy can be used for good or for evil. Small government people could dedicate themselves to the strategy and pass good constitutional amendments limiting the size of government or socialist-minded and big welfare people on the Left could organize to attain Medicaid-for-all and a UBI.
Most Americans have family ties to their cities and towns that would make it hard to organize the necessary move to the targeted districts. However, immigrants do not have those ties, and the strategists would be able to coordinate where they lived more untroubled. Well-funded groups could start businesses to employ these members.
There are 7,384 state representative districts in America (Senate and house). Thus, there are about 5,538 in the 38 least populace states. Therefore, the group would target about 3,000 districts to have a margin of error. Senate and house districts overlap, thus using strategy, about 2,200 districts need to be targeted.
China could send over 1% of its 1.3 billion people or 13 million of their most loyal communist members to America if America became an open border country. China could fund each of the 13 million members, $30,000 a year for just $390 billion. What a small investment to gain ownership of the complete US Military worth many trillions of dollars as well as all US private property and assets. While American Muslims are not very radical, all it would take is 1% of the most radical of the roughly 1.5 billion worldwide Muslims to Constitutionally give Imams complete power and ownership of America and every American.

The Solution

We should Amend the US Constitution to require an authentic 70% representation of the American citizens. A new group; let us call it ‘True Constitutional Representation. Every citizen chooses among 200 groups to represent them. Members of each group vote on the leaders of just their group. Each group has a proportional weighted representation that matches its membership down to enough decimal points that every person’s change in group membership changes a group’s proportionally weighted vote. Every citizen must pay their group a fee of $10 per year, thus about $2.5 billion or an average of $12 million per group. All Amendments would have to go through this new group.

<![CDATA[A Solution for Global Warming]]>Thu, 07 Feb 2019 21:26:58 GMThttp://haley2024.org/blog-on-issues-of-the-day/a-solution-for-global-warming
Whether it is true or not, most people are convinced that increased CO2 emissions are creating catastrophic changes. The government is currently spending and regulating in substantial ways that are very harmful. It seems that all the solutions from the Left are socialism, which is very bad for the environment. Conservatives should advocate for two significant reforms that would reduce CO2 by more than half to replace all the erroneous regulations. The Green New Deal has major elements of socialism that would harm our collective standards of living and harm the environment.
These two conservative reform ideas would not harm the economy or quality of life; in fact, would likely improve life for most people. The environmentalists oppose environmental solution ideas that do not lead to a greater redistribution of wealth and government control. The two concepts are 100% nuclear power for electricity generation and making a car-friendly rail system for our country.
According to the US Energy Information Administration, 20% of the electricity is generated from 61 nuclear power plants. The most significant cost to building a new nuclear plant is unnecessary regulations and major time delays. Sure, the plants need to be safe; however, most regulations do not add to safety, the hostile laws were put in place to add to the expense and time from people who do not want them built.
The modern nuclear plants are much safer than the plants from the 1960s. It must be noted that nuclear plants have the safest history record compared to all other types of electricity generation. Digging coal out of the ground causes many deaths and shortens lifespans from black lung.
There are many deadly or environmentally harmful accidents surrounding oil, natural gas and hydroelectric. Prince William Sound and Deep-Water Horizon come to mind along with hundreds of smaller fatal accidents. Although greenhouse gases are the top concern of global warming believers, nuclear pollutes a lot less than coal and has zero CO2 emissions.
We, the environmentalist, both conservative and liberal, should dedicate ourselves to finding 1,000 new nuclear plants sites within a year. The second year we should narrow that down to 500 of the best locations. During those two years, final plans should be made to make these nuclear sites the safest possible. Contracts should be made to ramp up production of all the needed materials and equipment.
Contingency plans should be made to bring in pumps on heavy-duty helicopters kept in safe locations. All obstacles should be removed so that the plants could be completed in no more than five years from now. 500 plants would add enough electricity to replace all other power generators plus power the car-friendly rail system. The second largest source of man-made CO2 is cars and trucks. We could cut about 70% of driving and air travel by building a car and trailer friendly rail system. These rails would compete for the business; there are no mandates.
Imagine a rail system twice as extensive as the interstate highway system. Most of these miles of rails would not parallel the interstates but add new pathways. These rails would be roughly 25 feet in the air with the cars traveling below the tracks. Think of a suspended rollercoaster. Think about a very attractive double A-frame support for the rails every 100 feet. People would drive their cars into a container car and input their destination, within seconds, they are lifted under the tracts and will merge to the travel lanes at 150-200mph.
The only thing touching the ground is 4 poles (A-frame on both sides) every 100 feet. The environmental impact would be far smaller than roads. People can drive or walk under the rails with about a 15-foot clearance. During ice and snow, the tracks should be unaffected. These rails should cost much less per mile compared to roads. On/off ramps are every couple of miles or what makes the most sense in every location. CRA’s and free enterprise roads and transportation would lower costs.
Theme parks, stadiums, and other venues can have several on/off ramps. Huge parking lots would be used to store cars that can be dropped off and picked up by the rail system; meaning that people can get out of the car near their destination and tell the rail system to park their car. People would use an app on their smartphone to have their car brought back to them at will.
There would be a container shell in which cars drive into, that can handle the 200mph winds. The container shells can swing to take turns easier. Because of the speed and not having to drive, many people will use the rails instead of air travel. People could be halfway across the country by a six-hour nighttime journey while they sleep.
Tractor trailers would also use the rails. Just the trailer would travel unmanned. Many industrial parks would have trailer on/off ramps. Tractor trailers would be just for local travel on the roads. The people in the vehicles can sleep, read or watch their movies. With high speeds and not having to drive, people’s work radius doubles. Delivery charges will drop. Travel time is decreased.
Getting on and off the rails are within a minute. The propulsion is electromagnetic. There would be magnetic-levitation involved. There would be significant electricity needed, but much less energy than the replaced gasoline or diesel. The reduced CO2 from reduced car mileage transitions to 0% CO2 from nuclear power. The products of the current oil, gas, and coal production can be exported to other countries.

<![CDATA[Election Reforms]]>Sun, 25 Feb 2018 00:08:43 GMThttp://haley2024.org/blog-on-issues-of-the-day/election-reforms
The following are just some ideas that could help bring greater confidence in the election polling process and deter fraud. The integrity of the election booth is a great concern because if people start seriously questioning whether there is fraud, our system of government unravels.

First, who can be registered to vote? The people should demand the scrubbing of all voting rolls on an ongoing basis with good information. There is a need for other government departments to share information such as the DMV, courts, or others that might show different addresses, name changes, out of state registrations among others.
There needs to be greater accountability. Given the large numbers of undocumented people here and because of significant identity theft; there needs to be a high bar to prove one’s citizenship status and legal eligibility.
In an effort to guard against fraud, certain information should be online for citizens to observe and question. There should be better protocols. Haley2024’s reform of free enterprise ID services with CRA’s could be a huge help in better identification standards.
Second, on election day we need better transparency to root out fraud. In the laptop computers used by voting officials, there is a profile of every voter in the precinct. There is currently no photo. The suggestion is to add a photo. Biometrics are also becoming better, a simple face, palm or other biometric information can be in the profile. This enhanced profile could speed up the process. If the profile is improved, ID cards are not needed.
As an additional fraud protection, there should be a camera pointing at the face of the voter and when the election official checks the person in, the picture should be taken. Who voted, not for whom they voted, should be public record. This photo should be online for citizens to scroll through to spot any fraud and a basis for prosecution if fraud occurs. The deterrent factor would be very high.
Third, ballots should always be paper for proper recounts. That is currently the case in many places. However, it should become 100%. Second, when the ballot is scanned into the scanner by the voter, it is scanned to read the vote. It should also photocopy the ballot as a PDF. It would be assigned a random number, so people could not match people checking in with the PDF. All PDF’s would be online in a downloadable form.
There currently is an online breakdown by precincts and vote totals. The day after the election, there should be additional information online such as the name, with a profile and check-in picture. There should also be all PDF’s of the ballots online by noon the day after the vote by precinct.
Media, political parties, interest groups or the common man could do their own recounts. The registrar would have it in an easily assessable form so they can do recounts within minutes with the right programs. Facial recognition programs would be able to detect possible fraud.
There are many people with privacy concerns; however, balanced against the integrity of the election, these reforms are warranted. The greatest concern is the list of people who voted. That list is already out there and easily attainable. The state board of elections charges a small fee for that list to certain interest groups or candidates. That information is quickly put into many databases.
These reforms are to make the current system better. Haley2024 proposes all voting to be within chosen CRA’s. Please read all the Haley2024 reforms.

<![CDATA[Is the Climate Changing?]]>Sun, 27 Aug 2017 03:54:00 GMThttp://haley2024.org/blog-on-issues-of-the-day/is-the-climate-changing
We have observed dramatic climate change within certain areas over the last several centuries. We are all on full notice that climate might not stay the same. It might change for the better, worse or not at all. To which degree is not certain. Too many are conceited with certainty, that is unwarranted. On the most part and where most people live, the climate has been very stable for several hundred years.
We need to be cautious that we even have good knowledge of what the climate was, and humbleness in thinking we know what it will be. Official predictions by government approved or paid for scientists are rarely better than predicting the average of the past. When we look back at 30-year predictions from 30 years ago, we have unimpressive results; however, they claim that we must trust their 100 years and longer predictions.
It is not the governments’ job to try to keep the climate the same or rescue people from the change. Governments’ attempts have mostly impoverished people and impeded proper adjustments. We should let the much richer and more knowledgeable people of the future deal with these items. We already know how to take CO2 out of the air, however not that efficiently. In the future, they can do that more efficiently.
We are getting better at solar, hydroelectric and wind. When that overtakes burning fuels economically, we could see over a 90% drop in man-made CO2. Nature is the largest producer and consumer of CO2. There have been massive releases of CO2 in volcanic activity. Nature seems to have many systems in place to balance CO2 and other chemical/gas levels out.
Plants and trees ‘breathe’ in CO2 and ‘breathe’ out oxygen. Animals breathe in oxygen and breathe out CO2. We can measure, kind of, greater tree growth in higher CO2 environments. Plankton and bacteria can vary with levels of CO2 to even out CO2 levels. Almost all organic material ‘burns’ through biodegrading, releasing heat, methane, and CO2.

Oil, coal and natural gas are thought to be really old trees, plants, animals and other organic materials that just got buried deep enough before biodegrading. Trying to stop CO2 and methane because they are greenhouse gases is foolish because the greenhouse effect is what is keeping us alive on this planet. Too much and too little greenhouse effect is certainly important to consider, and man’s effect could make a difference. However, we need to be humble in knowing the right optimum levels.
We are not going to damage anything that bad. We are not going to use up everything. Sure, we need to be good stewards of the environment and not do stupid stuff; however, nobody is advocating stupid stuff. However, we should not impoverish people currently for minor and uncertain results in the future. It is important to realize the proper balance between risk and reward and be humble in our knowledge of either.
People in this current climate change debate need to address some of these major points. Too often they take statistics out of context and assume too much. They often make assumptions without considering many issues. Worst, they compile many misconceptions until they are way outside of reality. They only look at their good points and rarely look at the downside of their policies.

Plate tectonics is underappreciated

Climate change believers underappreciate plate tectonics. It might be because the Left cannot blame capitalism on it. However, much of our climate is affected by the oceans and the Mid-Atlantic Ridge could change currents and hot-spots when the ocean floor is newly bulged or changed. There are plates throughout the earth, and all of them are playing a role.
How much heat radiates from areas near old faithful or the Hawaiian Volcanoes? It has been documented that volcanic ash thrown in the air had over a one-degree change in worldwide temperature averages in the 1980s. Rock layer research clearly shows volcanic activity at fluctuating levels over the centuries. We know that the hot spots change over time and that affects climate.
High levels of CO2 and other gases from under-ground can profoundly change gas levels locally and often worldwide. Often a change in one area has major effects thousands of miles away. More dust storms in Southern Africa could start more tropical storms that threaten America. Making sure all the dirt in Africa has vegetation on it might make a difference in limiting the number of storms that hit the Gulf Coast. In America, we had the Dust Bowl, however, once America became populated enough, we limited loose dirt and mostly eliminated dust storms.
So, has the climate changed? Will it change? First, let’s be humble in even knowing what it was 30 years ago, less 145 years ago and very little what it was 3,000 years ago. We have proxies; however, they are unimpressive. Predictions of the future have been mostly wrong over the last 100 years. The question of climate change is multifaceted with many unknown variables and inputs.

The climate is always changing because that is the nature of climates. There is rarely something not seen before, and yearly averages have always fluctuated. Inches of snow, hurricanes, high temperatures, frozen lakes, vary widely year to year. Many people talk in overblown terms regarding differences from 'normal' weather.

<![CDATA[Climate Change: We Can Handle Any Change That Comes Our Way]]>Sat, 26 Aug 2017 20:51:01 GMThttp://haley2024.org/blog-on-issues-of-the-day/climate-change-we-can-handle-any-change-that-comes-our-way
There are hundreds of different climates throughout the globe. Some are popular and some very unpleasant. Very few people live in the hottest or coldest places on earth. People tend to shy away from places with too little precipitation. People adapt to their surroundings or move to another. If the climate changes, it is likely to be similar to other existing climates in the world.
Climate change has been going on for centuries. Since people currently live in almost every conceivable climate, it is unlikely that climate change would cause that much damage or be something that we cannot handle. We can handle sea level rise or fall. We can adapt to lower colds or higher hots. We have adjusted to too much and too little rainfall. We are better at predicting and guarding against storms.
With the exception of something big from outer-space hitting us or massive tectonic shifts, we can handle anything that nature can throw our way. The greatest effects of climate are out of mans’ control. However, man does have the ability to adjust. Man can move, build better, grow different crops, or otherwise adapt. We could build entire cities in the open oceans. Necessity is the mother of inventions.
Over a half million people live in the desert of Las Vegas and three-fourths of a million in the coldness of Alaska. There are hundreds of cities with distinct climates and people adjusted to their climates. It is foolish to think that people could not handle what might be coming with 2-5 or even 10-degree changes. It might be worse, or it might be better, both are likely true in different ways.
We, the people of earth, can handle whatever comes our way. With greater wealth, more knowledge, more technology, freedom, and liberty, people will find a way to handle issues. We see storms kill thousands in third world cities where the same storm kills dozens in developed nations. Improved infrastructure, buildings, and products stand up under worse conditions. Better technology and experience gives us warnings to prepare.
The greatest challenge will likely be the statist assumption that they, the governments, will need to change it back or control people through the change. The Left wants the government to fix all problems with heavy government control. Keeping government out of the way of free enterprise is the best way to allow people to handle Mother Nature.
Government trying to fix, and control people has led to many problems of people making the necessary and proper adjustments. Free enterprise prices in land, labor, services, and products are vital in dealing with changes. The role of prices is one of the first casualties of populist sentiments directed at politicians. Government ownership in so much of the infrastructure, lakes, and rivers hampers the role of prices doing its job.

The Left advocates for higher tax rates that lower prosperity. It is that prosperity that allows us to adapt to climate change. Governments monopoly on regulations is very damaging to our economy because there are so many ineffective and hostile regulations that inhibit economic growth. The Left has the notion that prosperity is harming the planet.
Unfortunately, the Left often wins the battle to keep third world nations poor and unable to build, adapt, and prosper. A big part of that is energy policy. The left advocates and forces billions of people to have meager standards of living and life expectancy now to try to stop climate change that is unlikely and minor.
Coal taxes, ethanol, limits, CAFÉ standards, foreign policy bans, among others are all harmful to all the peoples’ ability to adjust to climate change or even better handle their current climate. Energy is the fuel that runs the engine of freedom and liberty; thus, the Left opposes it.
It is remarkable that the sea levels have been as stable as they are over the centuries. However, if they increase several feet, several dozen feet or over a hundred feet, we can handle it. Yes, many people would have to move. People move all the time. There is plenty of land.
It would be vital that the prices of real-estate be allowed to adjust in the free enterprise system. If you believe in sea level rise, put your money on it and buy future waterfront property at 200 ft elevations. Allow the ‘fools’ and ‘climate deniers’ to own land that you believe will be under water in the near future.

Scientist: Humbleness needs to make a stronger showing!
What is the average global temperature?

Everyone is convinced temperatures are rising; however how many people know the average temperature? Not many, and there is even less clarity of the factors that go into the average. Without factoring in humidity and air pressure among other factors, researchers are missing a lot. Do we measure water, rocks, and sand temperatures? How high and how deep should we measure? How often should we measure?

80-degree dry air has less heat than 79 degrees air at 100% humidity. The temperature of dry air increases faster than humid air. The temperature drops with rain. Higher pressure air is denser than lower pressure and that matters. How high do they measure, are we really just measuring 5 to 7 feet up? 100, 1000, 5000, or 30,000 feet up should all be part of the average. Is the thin air at mile-high Denver factored? How difficult is it to measure all the air around the earth? It is a daunting task. There is a real issue of our ability to measure in a precise way.
The water temperature is also a huge factor. The air holds less than 1% of the heat compared to all the heat of the water of rivers, lakes, and oceans. It matters. How about the earth itself, the rocks and soil hold a lot of heat. How important and difficult is it to measure rock, sand, and soil. How deep do we measure? Do scientists conveniently leave those huge factors out because it is too difficult?

Okay, is measuring the same spots day after day and year after year with good controls sufficient? If seven thousand locations around the globe showed an average of 5-degree warmer air, we would have enough to be statistically significant. However, they are too conceited when talking about hundreds of a degree. About one full degree is about as confident as they should attempt, however, that might not bring in the grant money.
I did many small experiments with my children. I took ten thermometers outside and placed them in ten different locations within 50 yards. After 30 minutes, we charted the temperatures. We did this in many scenarios. We did not need tenths of a degree measures. They had differences within about 30 degrees. I explained the reasons for the differences. The metal jungle gym was hot to the touch. Our dog knew the shade was cooler than in the direct sun. The bushes’ natural ‘evaporation-breathing’ cooled the air. The breeze from the pavement was hot. However, the breeze from the lake was cool. A brief rain cooled down everywhere. Bright sunshine at noon radiated more heat than at dawn or dusk. Cloudy days warmed slower yet cloudy nights cooled slower.

While national weather official measures have many controls to try to limit those variables, it is very difficult to keep those conditions stable over the years. A new road, bush, tree, fence, among dozens of other items really throws the measurements off. The type of paint used on the measuring stations had about a 0.5-degree effect. There have been serious questions relating to significant changes close to most official measuring stations.
While all our tools might be able to tell the differences between 2015 and 2017, we have to be very cautious of our knowledge even ten or twenty years back. A tree grew or was chopped down. The new sprinkler system 1000 yards away dropped the temperature. The new fence blocked the breeze from the pavement. The flocks of geese are now living close by. The official caretaker of the station changed and did things a little differently. A mishap was not reported as to stay out of trouble. Yes, all these issues can have big effects.

It is a well-known fact, in the world grants, that global warming is the preferred outcome. People reaching other conclusions are at greater risk of not getting that next grant. There are many ways to make adjustments to reach the preferred outcome from outright fraud, cherry-picking data or simply using statistics that have qualifications that are easily over-looked in headlines or by politicians.
If the government only pays people who believe in global warming, the results are biased. If a scientist or researcher only sees grant money going to those getting a certain result, their future earning potential is considered. If a biased care-taker controls an official measuring station, they could add rocks close by to radiate more heat.

They could paint in darker colors. They could cut the grass lower than it was before. They could build a fence that blocks that cool breeze. They could park their car closer. The issue is that if someone wanted to nudge the average MEASURED temperature, it could be done, sometimes by action and other times by inaction.
While 30 years back is difficult to evaluate, it becomes very problematic going to 1915 or even more so to 1715 or the year 715. A scientist who thinks they can tell within a degree what the temperature was thousands of years ago is folly. They try to take ice cores and look at tree rings among other proxies; however, humbleness needs a stronger showing.

Certainly, log books from 150 years ago can show some valuable data; however, there are likely major problems of precise reliability and whether proper controls were met. Records show Iceland or the great lakes as being colder or having more snowfall a few hundred years ago. A wind pattern change is likely the cause. There are so many factors that go into climate, that proxies are very problematic.
It is very difficult for a scientist to measure how much heat enters earth every day and how much is radiated back out to space. How much heat is radiated from the center of the earth? How much cloud cover and the color of those clouds all make a difference either by reflecting the sun back or making a blanketing effect. CO2 levels certainly matter; however, it is just one of many effects.

<![CDATA[What Issues Should We Consider When Voting for President?]]>Sun, 18 Sep 2016 18:18:00 GMThttp://haley2024.org/blog-on-issues-of-the-day/what-issues-should-we-consider-when-voting-for-presidentWhen writing this in 2016, Haley2024 had not yet rolled out the Structure of the Foreign Policy and Private Military
: Bill Haley 8-25-2018
In a few months, the American people will go to the voting booth to vote on the President and members of the House and Senate. Given that there are dozens of very serious issues that affect our lives greatly, and given that there are dozens of preferences within each issue, it is highly unlikely that one of two choices will match a citizen’s preferences on all the issues. Also, a citizen does not get to be governed by the person they choose if they do not win.
The solution is that we restructure government, so issues are spread out to different groups. Moreover, in most cases, on most issues, the group, a citizen, chooses, will govern them. The group, their neighbor, chooses, governs them. Every citizen picks a group per major sector.
The federal government’s main and really only responsibility should be Foreign Policy. That is very important, and people should be able to concentrate their attention on that issue alone when deciding on federal elected office holders. All other issues would be dealt with at the state level or within the free enterprise system. See how Haley2024 structures free enterprise to take over many current government functions at Haley2024.org
When deciding your vote for the President and Members of Congress, your attention should not be on regulations, health-care, k-12 education, family law, labor law, colleges, roads, taxes, monetary policy, welfare, economics, police, Social Security, judges nor the dozens of other items the federal government should not be involved with.

<![CDATA[The Four Big Reasons Black Communities Suffer]]>Sun, 25 Oct 2015 19:05:30 GMThttp://haley2024.org/blog-on-issues-of-the-day/the-four-big-reasons-black-communities-suffer
I firmly believe that no race of people are better in terms of DNA. Every person of every race or gender has excellent and powerful inherent worth. Every person is made in the image of God. The big difference in the outcomes of the races when it comes to education, earnings, family life among others is ideas, philosophy, values, and viewpoints. Beliefs and culture play a significant role in outcomes.
The philosophies of liberty and protection of rights have made America, an exception to the world. While the four points below have certainly harmed the white populations as well as the black populations; the black community has undoubtedly suffered more. The solution is to teach better ideas and values to replace the harmful ones.
The government currently plays a negative role by trying to ‘solve’ these problems by government control. I genuinely believe that the ideas in Haley2024 The Movement will, over some time, solve these problems. The most significant problem and the ongoing cause of more problems are broken families.
Oppressive Mentality
When stereotyping whites, police, businesses and the government as oppressors, this group inculcates their children with the mentality of victim-hood and ‘not having a chance’. THAT OPPRESSED INCULCATION IS THE TRUE OPPRESSION.
A small child holds a sign saying ‘Don’t Shoot’ and sees their parents and neighbors holding others signs about police hunting them down to shoot them. Over the years, they are fully convinced that cops are the enemy that WANTS to gun them down, so when they do something foolish, as all kids do, and encounter the police, they decide to fight for their lives. They will often end up dead or in prison for what started as a minor mistake.
Government Education
Government is spending about $900 billion on education (all three levels). That is about $8,000 per household per year for life. This spending gives the government cumbersome control of education. This obviously means the parents have less power. Often government schools are failing to teach good values or just teaching a world view that is hostile to that of the parents.
Parents, students, teachers, and schools lack the freedom to do things better or switch to another school that is getting better results. There are many reasons why government schools fail and yet stay open. In free enterprise, failing schools go out of business and properly empowered parents to choose better schools. Yes, current government education policies harm families of all races; however, inner-city black families are injured the most. The $8,000 yearly education taxes reduce job opportunities and push up the cost of education.

BLOG: •The role of prices are highly valuable to achieve the proper levels of goods and services. Prices are also the best way to distribute the goods and services.
Individuals or organizations helping people out is a great thing to do. The government doing so does much more harm than help. The structure of that help is fundamental. It is hard work and takes Godly wisdom to truly help bring people to independence. The government’s hard and fast rules of when to give help do great harm as people put themselves in that position of need, to get benefits.
Government welfare has resulted in a higher rate of fatherless households. In black communities, the rate of broken families has reached high levels. While fatherless homes always harm children, it is amplified when large neighborhoods have minimal examples of healthy marriages and father figures. Government welfare encourages broken families and groups them together creating great harm.

Cheapening Life
Unfortunately, many people talk about alive human babies as an ‘IT’; for example' 'it's a boy.' People get desensitized to the fact that lives are sacred and extremely valuable. When life is less valuable to you, you do not find it important to sacrifice for others in their time of need.
This manifests itself in violence and not caring for others. The high respect for life is the most important thread in the fabric of society. The long list of leaders and supporters of Planned Parenthood has a very racist past and thus located the majority of their ‘clinics’ in black neighborhoods. It is highly unfortunate that they have succeeded in killing and devaluing human life in inner-city black populations.
Self-Government means that people take care of themselves by serving others in return for others serving them. It is called being interdependent. We only turn over to the government a very few things that only government can do. Haley2024 shows many ways that many current government functions can and should be free enterprise endeavors. The more government does for the people, the less self-governance they have.
The more government provides for a person; the more government has control over that person. The greater the control government has over a person, the greater the potential for oppression. While I list the four large issues, let us understand that there are many others such as high tax rates, regulations and other attempts of government’s ‘help’ and protection that does harm.
